Laserbrain Patch Co. & Lapels and Spells
Laserbrain started as a passion project. It all started with a couple of patches and snowballed from there. Stina began collecting pins and wanted to try designing her own. She began researching the process and soon the monthly subscription club was born. Eventually, as Stina began to create more diverse items, she expanded the clubs so that there were more options, and also a storefront.
Currently there are 5 clubs and a combo package which combines all the items from all the packages. All of the club packages are a surprise, and the items inside are slightly discounted for the club members. The first, and original club is Laserbrain. It includes a pin and a sticker. Each month there is a new theme, and the pin and sticker will usually be the same design based on the theme. The theme can be vague and artistic, or based on a movie or other pop culture reference. The second club is Lapels and Spells. This is a minimalist club and only includes a single enamel pin. These pins are not based on pop culture, but instead on symbolism and magic. They come with a pinch of dried herbs which can be used in spellwork or a bath. The third club is also minimalist. This club is completely inspired by our favorite space wizards. Each month members receive a single enamel pin. The 4th club is a 2 pin monthly club, it includes a LE magical teacup with the same magical wizard castle on top each month, but a different color scheme and design printed. The second pin is a jellybean that matches. And the newest club is an animation Teacup club. This pin will be a teacup with various toppers, the toppers on this pin will often be castles but can vary depending on the theme of the month. The themes are based on beloved animated inspirations and are a complete surprise.

Most of the items are designed by Stina, but occasionally she features a guest artist in a package. When this happens, there’s always info on who the artist is. Occasionally, Stina also does collaborations. That means there are some pins or patches designed and put out by Laserbrain and a friend together.
Stina
Stina does most of the designing and art for Laserbrain/Lapels and Spells. She also runs both of the Instagram accounts. She also brings Laserbrain & Lapels and spells to many craft fairs and comic conventions. You’ll also find Stina running the Popshop live shows.
Stina is a Mama, an avid reader, who loves nature, making art, traveling, Disneyworld, Star Wars, cats, tea, Witchcraft, magic, Buffy, Doctor Who, and Harry Potter. She has been a professional tattoo artist for 20 years and owns Grim North Tattoo with James.
James
Beyond being Stina’s husband, James does art for Laserbrain. He also does the boring paperwork, heavy lifting, packing orders, and the dreaded post office trips. Sometimes you’ll find him working the booth at a comic show or craft fair with Stina.
James is a Dad, loves Image comics, music, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Six of Crows, Star Wars, and has been a drummer since he was 11. (check out his current band Crown of Birches) He’s also a professional tattoo artist of 15 years.
Steph
Steph and Stina have been inseparable best friends since they were 15. Steph is usually live on Popshop with Stina, helping out and making jokes. She does most of the item packaging for wholesale orders, or special fundraisers. She helps pack orders, and she is often found helping Stina run the booth at craft fairs and witchcraft events. She also designs makes all of the pin boards we sell.
Steph is an avid reader and podcast listener. She loves gardening, chickens, cats, the 80’s, Buffy, The Last Unicorn, Star wars, and Harry Potter. She’s also a professional piercer.
